Can anyone tell me what entry in the registry needs editing to disable APIPA, and where its located??

looks like this is dhcp your talking about
set a static ip address turn of dhcp

Just search for APIPA in the registry. use the search tool, or the Key HKEY_LOCAL_MAHCINE - software - microsoft...........
