Comment: I have 3 Hard drives(2 IDE storage drives, 1 SATA system drive). IF i convert one of the storage drives to dynamic disk will i still be able to see the drive if i leave the other drives as basic disk?

Reply: (edit)Only if you multiboot do you need to be concerned. It is the OS that sees the disk and XP can see dynamic and basic. If you were booting 98 in a multiboot for example it could not see the disk.

Reply: (edit)I am not sure, but suspect Wanderer is right. However, read up on dynamic disks (do a search on groups.google.com on something like "dynamic disk problem") before you just casually convert a disk to dynamic if you may want to move it to another computer later. This can be a real hassle. Peter (Alert me if you want a reply)

Reply: (edit)You would have to convert back to basic before moving to another computer. You would have to undo any encryption, dfs, etc before going back to basic.
