Subject: dvd/cd player runs audio too fast
OS: win 2000
CPU/Ram: pIIII,700
Comment:

My DVD/CD (one player)player plays the audio too fast. There is a setting but it doesn't change the speed as it should. Do you think it is the drive, or is there something I am missing?
Can you help?

Thanks,
Dave

does it play the dvd audio faster than the video or do you mean CD audio? If its the DVD, uninstalling and reinstalling the dvd player should reinstall the mpg2 codec.

IF its the CD then the only time ive seen this happen is when the CPU was damaged somehow and running the whole system slower than real time, except playing audio was the only application in which it was noticeable.
