Comment:

I have been trying to Run dual monitors on my Windows 2000 Adv. Server machine and each time it defualts to the new card i install and does not reconize the AGP (main card)

i have a AMD 2200 XP, on a FIC mother board, running 768 RAM pc2700.

once i install the new card it defaults to it and when i go into Display setting is only show one monitor. i was able to do this with win98 with no problem?

any ideas would help.

Brian

Windows 2000 only supports dual monitors when there is 2 PCI graphics cards, or 2 ISA graphics cards. you cannot mix them EG:1 PCI and 1 AGP

you can have dual monitors, but you have to have the PCI as the primary card in win2k...to do this you need to go into your BIOS setings and set your motherboard to reconise PCI card first then AGP

another option is getting a new GeForce 4 card or ATI radeon card that has dual monitor capabilities built in
