ok, so the hard-drive i have in my computer is a 13 gig drive. i wanted something with more space so i bought a 20 gig hard-drive from my friend, currently the 20 gig drive has windows 98 on it. i tried plugging both the 13 gig and 20 gig hard-drive into my computer, the 13 gig drive being the master, (the 13 has windows 2k on it) and it starts loading than jus freezes. but it only does this when both drives are plugged in. what's the problem? i didn't have a problem before when i had the 13 gig drive and a 7 gig one. someone please help me.
thanks.
paolo

First try to plug in the 20gig in by its self and see what it does... I suggest you format the 20 gig hard drive... you dont need a 98 os on ur computer as well as 2000 with it
if the 20 gig works by it self then that mean its a confliction problem between the 2 hard drives
make sure there correctly set up
so make sure 13 gig is master (on the jumper) and 20 gig slave ( on the jumper )
make sure the ribbon cable is set up that way also(ribbon cable)
(motherboard) (slave) (master)
Motherboard plug in: |-----------|----|so the very longest part of the cable plugs into the motherboard.. the middle one goes to the slave and the end one goes to the master..

ok i have a few things running threw my head, but first. have you tryed taking an old school win98 boot disk and booting to dos? if so can you see both hard drives there?

i'll try all that...i'm pretty sure that i've got it all plugged in right...but i'll try again, and yes the 20 gig drive works fine by itself...how do i go about re-formatting the drive?
thank you so much,
paolo
