Dual Boot Predicament

The System suddenly reported it couldn't find the Hard Drive. We took it to the repair shop and our Technician concluded the Hard Drive and IDE Cable were both fine. The System originally has Win 98SE. Technician said Win 98SE was corrupted. To save time & money He offered to install Windows 2000 Pro and set the System up for dual boot, with the understanding that Win 98 will probably fail very soon. Now we have Dual Boot with a Fresh Install of Win 2000 and Win 98SE in bad shape.
Two Questions, should we reclaim disc space and erase / remove Win 98 from the Hard Drive? What would be the safest / cleanest way to do that?
2nd Question, AVG Antivirus is running fine but only on Win98 Boot. Windows 2000 doesn't recognize it. Can we switch the Installed AVG to Win 2000 or best to download and install it again when Windows 2000 is running?

YOu could probably reclaim your disk space using partition magic which sounds like a good idea since 98 is shot. Then reinstall the anti virus program.

Assuming that Windows 98 was installed first before Windows 2000, you might accidently wipe the boot files in the process, resulting in an unbootable system... not nice. Preferably, you should wipe the disk clean and install 2000 over, if you can.
AVG I believe can be installed on 2000, which is what you should aim for.
