Comment:
If I set up a dual boot with 2k and XP would I need to install my programs on each partition for each OS or would all programs work on both OS if installed from one OS? Thanks for any replies.

You will need to install the software under each OS.

You can create a partition just for your applications. Install them to this partition with one OS. Overwrite the same app when you install from the other OS. This way you cut in half your applications disk space usage and the app will work in both.
