DSL works on startup, quickly stops

Just got dsl service, ISP provided me with the router, Zyxel 642, and when I try to use the internet it will allow me to view about 3 web pages, then stops. More specificaly, it seems to stop around 500-700 packets recieved. Restarting lets you get another 500-700, but then it quits. Hooked up a laptop running XP to check that thier stuff was ok, worked fine. Networked the two computers to check my NICs were ok, they worked fine. Spent 2 hours with the ISP tech guys and they are baffled.
