hi y'all, how can i make a drop down list in a excell sheet. Like we do in the internet when filling out forms...eg. date of birth, where all the years appears, and one can choose from. I intend to add names of friends in a excell sheet and avoid having to type the name everytime, but to choose it from a list where i already have all the names. I hope you can understand what my intention is.

Use a Filter. Go to Data, Filter, and select the type of Filter you want.
The exact steps will depend on which version of Excel you're using.

i have office2K. I have to mention that i already have the list in my acess data base, all i wish to do is to insert the list in each excel cell. To make it easier for me to select names (auto complete) instead of typing them.

bring up your list in ms access then there is an option under the tools menu to "analyze data using Excel". Select this option. Once this data is in Excel, select the column your names are in, go to data->filter->autofilter. This will create the dropdown list for you in that column.
