I have installed Win2k advanced server on one of my computers and Win2kPro on another. I bought a networking kit from 3Com called the Home Connect Networking Kit. It came with a cd that contains drivers for Win98 and Win98 Second Edition. I am trying to get my network adapter cards to work on my computer with Win2K Advanced Server. Is it useless to try and install the network card or can I find a driver that will work? If it is possible, where can I get this driver? I have tried getting my computer to detect the network card, but it tell me that the kit does not support NT. That is using the cd that contains the drivers for Win 98 and Second Edition. Also, when I installed Win2k Adv. Server, I finally got my computer to detect my modem, but when I try and connect to the internet, it tells me my modem may be disconnected, unplugged, or installed incorrectly. When I go check my modem status, it tells me that the device is working properly, no conflicts. What do I do!?!?

First off, Windows 95/98/ME drivers are TOTALLY different than Windows NT/2000 drivers. They will NOT work. So, what you need to do is to grab one of those network cards, peer at it closely and find a manufacturer's product number (3Com usually use something like 3C905B-TX). Then you need to go to 3Com's website and find the Windows 2000 driver for that network card. Download it and use that when you install it.
You need to do the stuff above for the modem as well.
