dosx.exe file

I installed a software from sybex for my ccna test and got this error "the win16 subsystem was unable to enter protected mode, dosx.exe must be in your autoexec.nt file and present in your path" the software runs great in other pc running windows 200o pro too. I guess mine has a problem but what is it? Thanks a lot
