Dongle on LPT1 under Win2K

Comment:
Some of our users were using some software that required a dongle or "Key" to be connected to the Printer Port (LPT1). They were using it on a Windows 98 platform. When we upgraded their OS to Windows 2000, the software appears to work OK but won't identify the dongle on LPT1.
Is their a way to force he OS to support or recognize this key on the Printer Port?
Any help would be hugely appreciated. Thanks... Trev.

Hi Trevor Assuming that the program wants the dongle to use LPT1 port on address 378h...have you checked Device Manager and BIOS to see that LPT1 is configured as such ?

Thank you for your response Krystyna.
I Checked the LPT port in the BIOS to make sure it was using the correct IRQ and the correct DMA channel and memory address. Made sure it was enabled and tried both Standard Mode and Enhanced Mode. I also tried enabling Legacy Plug & Play Detection in Control Panel. Still no luck.
Anything else I might try? Any suggestions would be appreciated. At this point, I'll try anything (except rolling the O.S. back to Win98)
