They entered a username/password and got the message that the logon server did not recognize the password/access to server has been denied. what can i do to change this and correct the problem?

Have you "joined" these machines to the domain yet? Doesn't sound like it to me.

How do you join 95/98 boxes to a domain other than entering the domain name into the correct box in the client for microsoft windows properties?

What did you enter for the domain name when joining those machines? If, for example your Domain name is "yourdomain.com", make sure NOT to add the .com for the 9x and ME machines. just use "yourdomain". No Quotes.

I can't remember how to do it in Win2K, but in Win NT 4.0, you would have to go to server manager and add Win9x clients. Now I remember, have to add them (the machines) to "Active Directory Users and Computers" which will be found in your Administrative tools menu.

Dear Jeff
First you have to create a computer account in DC from Active Directory in computer or user folder, don't forget to check the box "Allow pre-windows 2000 computer to use this account" then try the procedure mentined above by you. You'll be surely at your destination. go ahead.....
