I'm having problems setting up a local lan server as/with a domain. The domain name I'm using is the same as our company website so when I try and ping the internal mydomain.com the DNS resolves the external IP insted of the internal one. How do I setup the DNS server to distinguesh between www.mydomain.com as the external IP and mydomain.com as the internal IP so I can ping it internaly??
Thanks in advance.
P.S. the server is fully working as the DNS server except this one address of its internal self on the netwrok.

You are going to get the IP you have assigned to mydomain.com Zone. If you want to get an internal IP you have to ping a specific computer -> not the whole domain!
example: server.mydomain.com
To get the proper IP there needs to be an A record for the computer set to the IP of that computer.
