Have you ever ran into this problem in Windows 2000 Server: My DNS Server every night keeps pointing an DNS Alias entry for SERVER1 from x.x.x.11 to x.x.x.19.

Then the next morning none of the outlook clients will work because the DNS is pointing to the wrong IP and I have to clear the DNS cache re-point the DNS to the correct IP and restart the DNS Server.

When I ping that IP address it doesn't even return a packet.

I've statically mapped the DNS but this alias keeps over riding my change. Ever heard of this?

Wow! That sounds viral to me. Have you ruled this out? Do the old slave the suspect drive to a clean PC trick and scan away.
