Hi, I have a problem wherein I can not open the google home page. It opens if I type the IP though. I know it is an issue with DNS but how do I fix it? I have MS Antispyware which I run on a DAILY basis & Norton AV 2002 which is updated daily as is MS windowsupdate. Another thing that I have noticed is that I can not save any settings on MS-Antispyware. Any help would be greatly appriciated. Bye I make so many spelling mistakes cuz I keep my fingers crossed!

If you can only get there by the Ip address, try running ipconfig /flushdns and then ipconfig /registerdns from the command prompt and then reboot the system.

Can you ping the IP address of your ISP's DNS server? If not then "something" maybe a firewall may be blocking access to it. Wether or not you can, try manually entering the IP address of your ISP's (or anyone's) DNS server, to the TCP/IP properties of this system.

The google IP is 216.239.37.99 And when I tried ipconfig /release this is what I got : Error: No adapters bound to TCP/IP are enabled for DHCP I have created a shortcut to google with the IP & that works, but the toolbar would not search anything & that is a pain :) If you went thrugh all of this then you really do want to help & thanx again for the effort & time. Hi friends, Maybe I should have informed of a detail that skipped by me, This computer is part of a network behind a proxy. I showed the above mentioned steps to the netwrok admin & proxy dns was reste & the problem has been fixed. HURRAY... Thanks for the time & the effort to all folks & a special thanks to FOOMAN..
