i installed one DNS server i added the hostnames and and added one webserver name i mean www in the dins .when i am typing the www.mycompany.com it is getting all the computers.but when i am connecting internet it is not getting but if i am typing its ip address in the browser it is getting.i added the bypass setting local adress in my browser setting and added my dns entry in my network setting .but after connection net it is not working .how can i solve this problem.one morething is that if i am giveing the dns entry in my network tcp/ip propertied then browsing is also not wroking can u help me

have you tried an nslookup?? then you can see whats causing the problem

Sounds like you have to add your ISP's DNS in your Windows 2000 DNS forwarders list
