Netlogon is posting the following error in the system log upon boot up of the DC: "Dynamic registration or deregistration of one or more DNS records failed with the following error: No DNS servers configured for local system"
However, the DNS server log shows that it has started...without a problem. Even manually restarting the DNS Server does not yield the same error.
I'm wondering if maybe the "cart is getting before the horse" (so to speak) on boot-up, or perhaps even a conflict with another DNS server outside fo the domain.
Has anyone else experienced this problem...?
Thanks for the insight.
Eric

Hi,
A--
If DNS runnig on DC and you get the message from this machine , Probably The netlogon service starts before DNS service .You try the stop and start the netlogon service and check the event log , I think that you will not see the error .
If DNS server and DC running different machine , you should check the communication with two machine
if you will ensure the AD is working properly:
1 Check DNS for services records. You can use
nslookup or DNS MMC2 Use DCDIAG.exe,nltest.exe
B--
You should setAllow Dynamic update to YES , for your domain zone in the DNS
