Ok here it is I have a small home network consisting of 4 workstation all running Win/2000 and a 2000 Svr box running AD, I have DNS installed and running.....now everything seems to be running smooth untill the other day when I typed NSLOOKUP at the dos prompt and recieved an error stating "cannot find server name for address 192.168.1.103 non existent domain" and in the event viwer log listed under the DNS tab I got the following error
Event Type: Error
Event Source: DNS
Event Category: None
Event ID: 4004
Date: 12/9/2003
Time: 6:21:25 PM
User: N/A
Computer: SUPERBEAST03
Description:
The DNS server was unable to complete directory service enumeration of zone centcom.local. This DNS server is configured to use information obtained from Active Directory for this zone and is unable to load the zone without it. Check that the Active Directory is functioning properly and repeat enumeration of the zone. The event data contains the error.
Data:
0000: 2a 23 00 00 *#..
What gives? I am sure my DNS is configured properly, can somebody please help? Thanks.

You could try just refreshing all IP addresses.
Type "IPCONFIG" at the command prompt; or Type "IPCONFIG /?" to pull up all the options available for this option.

Well I just figured it out....I needed to add a PTR or "pointer" record into the "reverse lookup zone" Thanks all!!!
