DNS configration

CPU/Ram: 128

Iam using windows 2000 server and configure Active Directory as a stand alone server with 192.168.0.1 IP address.Configure DNS.The configration was ok but when i use nslookup it shows me

Server Name : local Host
IP: 127.0.0.1

My Active directory name is win2ktest and i use the same name in DNS.

plz guide me that how can i check and see that my DNS is configured properly.

Are you using a Router? What does ipconfig show?

Iam not using a router.The Ipconfig shows

192.169.0.10

255.255.255.0

Do you have a host and ptr records in dns that list the host name and that ip address? I would suspect the host entry has the loopback address not the correct ip address.

Imagine the power if you knew how to internet search
