Dissable Items on Startup

Can someone please tell me how to dissable programs on startup, like real player etc...

I used to use msconfig under windows 98 but it doesnt work in win 2000

i think you better try searching the win2k forums for what you are looking for. if you want to use msconfig, my hint to you is to search with the word msconfig. good luck!

hint: disable, not dissable.
hint 2: copy msconfig.exe from a win9x install to your w2k install.

Maybe remove it from startup! Or just get rid of Real Player... Failing that is Real Player loaded up as a service... If so change the service to manual...

Most programs that start at startup, are run from the services componant. Go to 'Computer Management' and find 'Services' in the left hand panel.
This should give you a list of stuff that gets started with the computer. I don't have Real Player myself so I don't know if it will be in the list. If it is there, you can just modify it's startup properties to 'Disable'.

There is a program called Start-Up Manager, its real simple, it says everything that startups on you comp, and you just clikc what you want on and dont want on. I got mine from google, try finding it there.
