Disk Read Error

OS: Windows 2000 Pro
CPU/Ram: 550/160

I was having problem with my sound card & I went to windows update and downloaded the driver. Then my computer had froze rebooted it. Then I got a Disk Read Error. Press alt, ctrl, del to resume. Now every time I boot up I get Disk Read Error.

Hello


While you boot up your system, are you able to see the message 'Press F8 for ... (I forgot the rest)'?

If yes, then press F8, choose the Console, and then type CHKDSK (the ScanDisk for W2k and up).

If no, then boot from your W2k original CD, then take the repair option
