Comment: Hi everybody, I've got a question : I have : WIN98 and WINK on my PC, 2 HDD Partition C: on hdd 0 for boot partition D: on hdd 1 for datas partition E: on Hdd 0 for Win98 system partition F: on Hdd 0 for win2k system my hdd 0 is an old scsi one, and I'd like to remove it. So E: will become D: and F: will become E: What about the systems if I do this ? Will keep on running ? And what about the softs running under each system ? Thanks

Reply: (edit)What you are proposing is probably not a good idea. A lot of programs/OS run based on the drive letter they were installed to. You run a very high risk of bringing your whole system down with neither OS working.

Reply: (edit)MR is right- If you shuffle the drives about, 9x will happily accommodate you, and your boot drive will appear in Explorer as C: with monotonous regularity. NT is not like this. Drive F: will remain drive F: come hell or high water to preserve namespace consistency. How'd you like them apples?
