On boot, I get this error right before the "Starting Windows 2000..." screen appears. Can anyone help? It happened one night, out of the blue. I wasn't doing anything to the disk, such as a defrag or something to that effect. I have no idea what to do. Thanks for any help!

Sometimes when your disk controller or disk itself gets old you could start getting I/O errors usually not fixable except to but new parts.

I got a simular error, but mine is
Disk I/O Error: Status = 00000008

I don't know if it is the same kind of error
