Hi Guys

When I boot Windows 2000, I get this message: disk i/o error: status = 00000001, This is before startup. Thanks for any clues. Had windows 98SE, just formated C drive then installed Windows 2000. What's this NTFS thing when installing? I that the problem?
Thanks a lot...

The NTFS filing system is a very stable base to operate a computer from, so choose it when asked.

The error this is a little tougher problem. I would try updating the motherboard BIOS before attempting the installation again. It could be some of your hardware causing the problem.
