Disk Cleanup - Very Slow

Hello all
I'm running the above specs on a laptop. I'm just wondering if there's a reason Disk Cleanup takes so long (6-8 minutes)?
I just ran it this morning and there were only 750kb to clean up (I'm a pretty tidy user) then I ran it again and it took just as long.
I went and looked at my cookie file and there were only 6 items to delete (I haven't surfed the web much since my last thorough clean up).
Anybody have any ideas?

The amount of time taken has more to do with the total amount of data on the drive than it does files to be deleted. If you have lots of data, it's going to take a longer time.

I only have 1.38GB of data so I don't think that's it somehow...
I have since read it's something to do with the compressed files option but I don't know the solution yet...
