Comment:

Everytime I turn on the computer, I get "disk boot failure, insert system disk and press enter". Floppy is set up as the first boot device, hd1 second, and cd third. Why doesn't the system just boot up from the hd? I have to insert the win2k cd everytime to boot up, is there a way around this? Is it possible that the hd is damaged? Any help appreciated.

Place HD Controller as first Boot device and see the result. Do you have ATA66 or ATA100? Then use Raid or Scsi controller as first Boot device.

boot from your installation CD, choose to repair from repair console, there are two command that you can use to fix your boot files or your mbr :
fixboot or fixmbr

Go to BIOS.
If there is a line called Seek for bootup diskette, disable it.
Don't know if that helps, but worth trying.

Tried everything above and anything I could think of, but the dang thing still won't boot from the hard drive. I'm going nuts! Oh well, I guess I'll just play around with it for another 24 hours and see if I come up with anything. Keep the suggestions coming if anyone has any, it's much appreciated.
