Comment: yoooo i have a smart card reader and a digital camera which both takes the same memory cards the problem im having is when i use the cards in the reader it wants to format the card into a fat file system which isnt detected by my camera coming up with a Card error. i have expensive memory cards unuseable in my camera because i cant format them in the cameras file system anyone got any ideas? or software which allows me to do this? please post back of email me many thanks.

Reply: (edit)Try this, when it says it wants to format the card, it will default to the FAT32 format. Change that to just plain old FAT and it will work.

Reply: (edit)Doesnt seem to work for me, i format the cards in fat,fat32 and ntfs still come up wiv a card error. I know theres nothing wrong with the cards as they work fine in the card reader as fat/fat32/ntfs format. when a card is taken from the camera and put into the card reader the file system comes up as unknown..
