I want to clear the concept about

Shareing a Folder/Drive

Mapping a Folder/Drive

It is the same thing or there is a technical difference between them?

You share a folder/drive that is local to your computer.

You map a drive to a share on a remote computer.

When sharing you are offering your files to the network.

When mapping a drive you are creating a shortcut to a remote drive elsewhere on the network. You could reach that same drive by other means but if you need to access it on a regular basis then mapping is easier.

Hope that helps.
