What is the difference between PCL 5e and PCL6 printer drivers? Is one more advanced than the other? What benefit or requirements does one have/need to decide which driver to download?

6 is newer and offers newer grafics. Some older HP printers will not work with 6. Newer printers work with both. If you have used 5e before to format documents, that document might have problems printing correctly,or it may not, but that also depends on the printer as well. You can load both drivers in your printer folder and go to properties and print a test page. If both show the Windows flag correctly, use 6. If not, use the one that works properly.

I need to send PCL5 commands to a PCL6 only printer.
I currently send commands directly, i.e no third party driver, for high performance label printing.
I assume that it will require PJL commands, but I cannot find any PCL6 documentation to help.
Does anyone know how to do this, or where to look for more info?

Summary: Could someone please spell out in detail the differences between W2K server & Advanced Server? Or give me a website to look it up? Microsoft doesn't seem to document it too well, or I can't find it...
