I require WINDOWS 2000 drivers for the Diamond Viper V770 Ultra Display Adapter. Without that, my screen displays only 16 colours in 600x400 mode. Can anyone help?

Thank you.

yes i am rather pissed off because win2k comes with the display drivers for the v770/ultra but when i tried to install them i couldnt get out of 16 color 640x480
i went to nvidia and downloaded the detonator drivers and every other driver file that they had but none of them seemed to work.

Here is just wrote them a little email to express my feelings. I too jumpoed to win2k and now i am left out hanging with nvdia drivers not customized for my video card...

I would email them enough people have bitched and maybe they'll make the drivers...

Viper 770 Ultra drivers for windows 2000....

Here are some thoughts that i think you gusy should mull over and take to heart becuase without it you won't last.

I just brought my viper less then 2 years ago and i paid a pretty penny for it. Now i upgrade to windows 2k and there are no diamond drivers available?

What kind of half ass company doesn't make drivers for a card that is so tweakable. Even if i use the nvdia drivers its still not going to allow me to max my card out which is why i purchased this card.

You customer service and support is terrible. I will never ever buy from a company such as your again. And the 30 or so people who ask me for advice a year will always get the "don't buy from diamond cause the abandon customers"

Your team should work on diamond specific drivers for windows 2k becuase there customers are demanding them.

Read around the net and see that this is the word on your company...and what is being said will profoundly impact your business...

heres the email:support@diamondlegacy.com

I'm having the same problem. Just add my name to the list of dissatisfied customers. I got my graphics card last year from Dell as part of my computer package. I'm sending this entire string to them; they shouldn't specify Diamond anymore, because they don't support their products.

I think I know what the problem is but can anyone help with the solution?

The Viper 770 and my sound card (Aureal Vortex Advantage) share the same IRQ 11 and certain memory locations D8000000 - D803FFFF plus the i/o ranges DC00 - DC07 and E000 - E007.

Diamond soundcards (at least some of them) are also based on the Vortex chip.

There does not seem to be a way of altering the IRQs on either card.

At the moment, I can only suggest selling one or both cards on e-bay and buying cards that are compatible!

The Detonator three drivers will work for W2K . Also W2K is not for games it is a business OS and waz not designed for games. Stick to 98 for gaming

I can understand where a bunch of you are coming from about Diamond not making Win 2000 drivers for this particular product but you have to look at the big picture. Who made the operating system that is so incompatible with most products out there? Second, did you research to see if your product was even compatible before upgrading? If so would you be here posting this thread? The detonator drivers do work fine with this product. As for Dans response, the card runs great in Win 2000 with the latest Nvidia drivers. Why would you want to tweak a product that is already tweaked? Get a life! As for Diamond making drivers just because you are complaining, guess again! :) Remember, regardless of what you say about Diamond products, they are no longer in the video card business, which means no more drivers buddy. So therefore we depend on the chipset manufacturer where the chip actually came from. Is it really worth your time to rant and rave? Get over it and buy a new card. So what if you never buy Diamond again, you were already bought. Later

Kaos
