Comment:
I can dial in to Win2k from Win98 but not the other way round. In win98 I 'allow caller access' it says 'monitoring'. When I dial from W2k it says 'Verifying username and password...'. I get Error 691 access denied ... user/password ... invalid on domain. (I've been fiddleing with settings for days) What am I missing ? Help please!*?

Haven't ever tried it so can't give you first hand input...
But if (as I did out of curiosity) you do a search in google.com using the string/term:
dial-in access to windows 98
you'll get numerous how to (re)sources; probably one of thme will tell you how to set it up properly?

I had the same problem. I had to upgrade to win 98 second edition for me to see the machine and vice versa. I got this info from Microsoft's web page. If you are networking win 98, at least one of the computers has to be second edition. It solved my problem. Good Luck.
