Hi there,
before installing a dhcp server i configured my w2k server machine (NIC card) to a static ip addresse of 192.168.1.5 but after the dhcp installation, i went to dhcp console and discovered that by defualt the ip address there (169.254.243.26) is different from my static one. (also note: i just install this dhcp and haven't yet configured it). how do i give it this static ip address?
what surprises me is that i installed and configured DNS on the same machine and in the dns console it displays 192.168.1.5 perfectly.
somebody help me please

Not sure why a windows autoassigned ip address would be in dhcp. Delete it and create your own scope.

the 169.254 adresses are assigned to APIPA , when DHCP server configured wrongly r failed this APIPA assigned auttomaticaly by default. so u can configure it correctly.but iam not sure.
