Serious problem with DHCP/DNS

I had to disable the DHCP and DNS settings on a windows 2000 server as It was going onto a network on a temporary basis with those services already running. I now want to restart the services so to do this I went into the service manger in administrative tools and chose the DHCP server service and clicked start. It says ‘Could not start the DHCP service on the local computer Error 1058 the service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it’. The service is not disabled its set to automatic……Please help as soon as you can

Have you rebooted the pc. That may be required to load and restart the services.
