Yeah, yeah, I know my system is ancient, but I am running W2K Professional trying to get an HP Photosmart 935 camera to synch up with my PC and I keep getting the following error: "This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)". I've tried everything such as updating and reloading the drivers, even uninstalling and reinstalling the camera itself, but still no dice. I'm guessing at this point that it's not camera related. Obviously it's recognizing the camera, because it's showing up in the device manager. Any ideas?

What service pack are you running? Is the camera USB?

Have a look at the link below. If you did not follow the install routine exactly you may need to remove the devices and then run a registry cleaner and reboot before attempting again.

CCleaner has a basic cleaner included.

I've found that Glary Utilities does any even better job of cleaning the registry. I now run both Glary AND CCleaner. What one doesn't get, the other one will.
