updated a computer to win2000 and now can't detect the out of paper/printer off error. The program opens LPT1 as a file then writes to it. Under win98/me we get an error if the printer runs out of paper or if the printer is turned off. Does anyone know how i can detect these error conditions under win2000?

Have you tried to reinstall your printer on the win2000 system?

Tis might help, but make sure you install for win2000 or winnt else it might not work..
