Deploying Service Pack 3 Remotely?

I have servers all over the country and I need a way deploy service pack 3 remotely. I tried using terminal server to apply SP3 but it complained that MSTSC.exe was open and to close and retry!?!? Anyone know of an automated way to apply SP3 to remote servers?

Would a software package be suffice? Create a group policy software package against the domain controllers OU or do it against the domain and filter it if you are also talking about member server? I have'nt heard of this not working?
