I just received a Optiplex 745 from the office back in Houston. My instructions were to reload to windows 2000 and use a real time data and video recorder for a process we have out here. I found an old Dell Re install cd with windows 2000. The plan was to boot to the CD and then format and reload as needed. The only thing I have found is the chipset driver and I fear that the Audio video driver may not exist that will work with 2000. Upgrading the process is not an option I need to find a way to get this 745 in place. Hoper you guys can help this none IT that is floating at sea. Take Care and Regards
Most Dell reinstall CDs should already have the drivers for their older machines. It should reinstall without any problems. I haven't hit any problems installing on antique dells.
