i've got a Dell Latitude C800 laptop. under hardware and "monitor", it gives me 4 "Default Monitor" icons.
when i go to dell's support site and put in my ID, i get a bunch of drivers to download under the "monitor" header. http://support.dell.com/us/en/filelib/device.asp
should i be using one of their drivers? why does mine show 4? how do i figure out which driver i should be using?

just "remove" them all and reboot the computer; PnP will setup the correct one. The fact that you have four, means that you've probably plugged it into a couple of different external monitors in the past, and windows doesn't or can't hardware-check if the monitor is still present and remove it when booting up.
