I just got a PC with Win 200 profesional installed, and the guy that gave it to me dosent remember the passowrd. I am trying to delete the SAM file from DOS, but it tells me Access Denied.
When I piggy back the drive to my other computer what jumper settings should I use?

The drive should be set to slave and your primary drive set to master. One other thing, the other computer has to be running a version of Windows NT.
My personal 2¢, deleting the SAM file won't make a difference. I had a similar problem with a WinNT4 box when the password became corrupted. NOTHING WORKED, deleting the SAM file, running password crackers, password guessers, etc. The only thing that worked was REINSTALLING and creating a backup ADMINSTRATOR account so it would never happen again.

I'd set the drive as the Secondary Master, rather than the Primary Slave. Just experience talking. :)
й§kmªñ is right though. Deleting the SAM isn't a guarantee that the passwords will reset.
Go with the Linux boot disk or L0PHTCrack.
