Comment:

My sysvol folder became corrupt so I pulled a copy from backup. I wanted to compare the corrupted one with the good one so I restored to an alternative location first and also wanted to be careful so I made copies of the corrupted syvol (I would delete it later).

The restore got everthing working again but the problem now is that I have 4 old sysvol folders on my c: drive that I cannot delete. The message I am getting is:

--------------
Cannot delete DO_NOT_REMOVE_Ntfrs_PreInstall Directory: There has been a sharing violation.

The source or destination file may be in use.
--------------

The folder is not shared. I have full control of the folder/subfolders and I have ownership.

Can I delete??

Thanks.

Try renaming it, then make sure to click the inherit permissions on the Advanced tab under Security to reset the permissions on all the objects within that folder....
