How can you delete registry keys/vlaues using MS-DOS Command Prompt. I want to delete some keys or folders (if possible) using a boot floppy, but i dont know how to do it in dos. i can do it in windows by running "regedit".

Don't know that it can be done from DOS although if you know enough about Windows I suppose anything is possible. Wouldn't be easy, I'll bet.

As with most things, there is probably more than one way to accomplish this task. What exactly are you trying to do? Maybe somebody can suggest another (maybe even a better) way to do it than what you have in mind.

well im trying to remove deep feeze in win 2k.

to do that you have to either know the password or delete the driver files. You have to do it from true dos(using boot disk). but when you delete the driver files, windows doesn't start besause the regesrty has some keys that indicate there should be those driver files on the computer.

also you cant change anything wile windows is on because of deep freeze.

for those of you that dont know deep freeze is a program that "freezes" your hard drive, so every time you restart its the same way as when you first installed deep freeze.

Have you tried using the last known good registry? Hold down the f8 key while booting. This may help.

The last known good registry would most likely still contain Deep Freeze entries.

Post your problem in the DOS forum. You might get lucky there.

If all you need is the data - you could place the hdd in another pc running whatever OS you have - setup as a slave drive you should be able to at least retrieve the data that way...

* I have had success with this in the past

Good Luck!
