Hey, I have an interesting question, which I hopes I can do! (dire need!)

I recently re-installed my windows 2000 version, had some corrupt files such as missing fonts...etc. I have 2 hdds, 1 60gb and the other 160gb (my storage). So I formatted my 60 gigger, which I only use for windows...I get windows 2000 back up and running, all drivers and sp4 installed with all critical updates...yadda yadda, and it's saying my 160gb drive needs to be formatted, AFTER I enabled the 137gb + hdd size support.

Is there anyway I can still get my data off of my 160gb storage drive? Or will I loose my stuff :(!!!!!

Thanks!

Yes there is a way, but I'm not aware of a free way to do it. This software here I've used before and it works great.

this lite version will cost you $90 though.

"EasyRecovery Lite has a 25 file per recovery session limitation and does not allow you to save and resume the recovery process. "

Is that just in the trial version?

I've only used the Pro version, but after reading their write up, it looks like Easyrecovery Lite doesn't support save and resume.

Try Disk Investigator.

It works good and is free.

So you left the 160 gig drive partitioned as just one drive? This is not a good idea. Once you salvage things, you might want to rethink this to avoid similar fun in the future.

You can avoid many of these Windows problems with Linux. Linspire eases the transition for new users

if other methods can not help you
1.restore back to disable large LBA and then reboot, see ok or not.if not go to next step
2. run chkdsk x: /r (x is your drive letter)
