I'm having all sorts of problems dealing with my CPU usage. First, when I connect to the Internet, it does fine but when it gets to "Registering your computer on the network", it hangs for about 3-4 minutes and Services.exe goes up to 100% CPU usage.
It does something similiar when I disconnect, too.
Services.exe also goes up to 100% CPU when I do certain things like open a CD or open Nero or something of that sort.

Also, for what-ever reason, going to certain sites such as E-Bay causes IE to take up about 100% CPU, too, and the page scrolls with heavy lagging. It doesn't seem to do the same when I use Opera or Mozilla, though. Just IE. So clearly, I can get around this problem, but its a little annoying. Can anyone help?

Another annoying thing is that scvhost.exe has about 5 copies running.

Well, I'd love any help that can be given on any of these things. Let me know if you can help!

hi,

according to ur problem, mozilla and operat is working fine. only IE has got problem. scvhost.exe will as many times as network operations grow on. with this u don't have any problem. if u get any error from scvhost.exe saying "illegal operation" than u might have infected with virus. if not u are safe. it mean u have IE problem only, but u didn't mentioned which IE version is using. u will get so many patches and service packs from microsoft, just downlaod it and apply it .
