When I go to start my other computer I get to the loading screen (with black background) and it stops at about 6 bars and says that \WINNT\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEMced is corrupted. I go to look for that file on this computer (also running Win2k) and can't find it. I'm told to load setup using the CD-ROM and repair the file. I try doing so and find out that it will only repair installs, and without an emergency recovery diskette I can't repair it. So I go to console to see if I can find the directory/file on that computer. No luck. I MAP the E:\ and check it out for that file. Unfortunately I can only find a SYSTEM32 within the I386 directory and that doesn't have the file I need. I can't get into windows or do much anything else on that computer now, any suggestions? If you can, please Email me at jajimo@hotmail.com
Thanks!

Mike,
We had the same problem. The instructions included in the link below fixed our problem.

Well, unfortunately, it did not help here. Upon attempting to utilize this fix and ren system system.old, I get an error saying that it can not find the specified file. Upon looking in the directory (c:\winnt\system32\config\) I have a file called sys\em. Are there any other tips?
c:\winnt\repair\regback\ is empty also.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
As I don't visit here often, could you be so kind as to e-mail me any suggestions.
