Hello I want to practice using the recovery console from my windows cd to restore windows 2000 sp4 on my laptop to a working state. My computer is working correctly but I want to know how I can stop my computer booting normally. Perhaps removing a windows system file or deleting a registry key? but which ones. It would be quite good to render the computer unbootable. Perhaps even by corrupting the mbr. Thanks :)
when i was installing dual boot on my pc i messed up boot.ini file and i have to use recovery console. you can delete boot files NTLDR, ntdetect.com, boot.ini, located at the root folder of the bootable volume.
iam newbie i recently install suse linux 10.1 when i use su and type /etc/shadow it says permission denied i dont know why.
