Hi,
I just installed an internal dvd burner.
Before that I bought the DVDenergy program, supposed to copy a dvd to a cd rom disk, or a DVD disk. It copies a small portion of the dvd to a cd rom disk, but no more than that.
However, the first section of the program does a complete job of copying the entire DVD movie to the hard drive, and it is playable on the PC by just clicking on the file.
This is great, but I still do not know how to burn the DVD to a disk, DVD, or CD!
That's why I installed a DVD burner. When I try to directly copy a movie disk, from my DVD player to my DVD burner, or from the movie in my hard drive to the DVD burner, using Nero, or Alcohol 120%, I get a error that there is not enough room on the blank DVD disk. The blank has about 4.7 gb of space. My movie says it has 3.88 gb. I still get the same error that there is not enough space on the blank disk. I feel like I must be doing something wrong.
I have heard that in order to copy a DVD disk to a blank DVD disk the movie must be either divided into two parts, or compressed. Can someone who has been successful in copying DVDs to a disk advise me on this? I am getting very frustrated with it. There probably is software that will do the job.

Eagerly waiting for some help.

Ron

before you spend any more money on progrmas try DVDShrink. It's fee and will probably do a better job then most the ones you pay for.

You may have other issues though, if your movie is truely only 3.88 gigs and your programs say it's too big, you may have to do some more troubleshooting.

Movies will be split up into 1 gig vob files and yes, they will be compressed with the MPEG2 format.
