I cannot copy and paste in windows 2000 server and professional. Everyone says that it is a Blaster virus. I downloaded a removal tool, but it didn't find a virus and could not solve the problem.

Moreover, Dialup connection cannot be disconnected after accessing to the Internet. What could be the solution for this.

Finally, I am not able to browse log files in the Event Viewer. Every time I choose a log file in the application log and double click it, it does not show anything and I cannot read the error message to understand what is going on in the computer.

It might be a virus of another name. I would run a serious virus check on your computer...not just look for the one.

I suspect the Windows Scripting Host has got hosed, and all the problems are connected to this. I managed to find a download on MS site last year to repair a similarly damaged W2K installation, but I unwisely didn't keep the URL (or at least, I can't find it).

Yes I did - try here

I have the same problem. I can't print or connect to the net, either. Blaster isn't detected, nor is anything else when I scan with AVG. No one on here has even come close to helping me, really. I've only been told what I know which is that it's screwed up services. My Add/Remove Programs panel won't open correctly, either. IT seems we may have the same problem. If you get a fix, let me know, I beg you.

The fact that your "add/remove programs" doesn't display properly confirms what I said - I had all these symptoms.

How exactly did you fix it? I didn't see a download on that URL. Am I just looking over it too fast?

You're right they've changed the page - just when you thought you could see a lifebelt....

It was accessible from the Downloads tab. Hope it solves your problem. Can't make it any worse anyway. It's a bit of a sledgehammer to crack a damaged DLL and some duff reg entries, but the only other way is a reinstall, and I couldn't do that.

I'll try that, then. Do you think you could give me more information about the thing you used? I'm in a terrible rut here and I can't reinstall, either.

Thanks.
