I am looking for some answers on how to get my copy and paste function back in WinXP. I believe it has something to do with the RPC and Cryptographic services and some currupt dlls. However, i am not 100%. Not too mention my system takes forever to start up now. Keep in mind this is all after the blaster worm was removed conmpletely. If anyone has any solutions to this problem please let me know. Thanks, pcfitness.

PCfit--- You might as well go through the steps again to rid the worm. You should not still have cut and paste probs. The worm (msblast.exe) file may still be present on your computer. First go to www.microsoft.com and download the patch for the worm. Then go here to read the steps: http://www.sophos.com/support/disinfection/blastera.html This will tell you how to rid the worm. You will need to search windows for the msblast file and delete it...........and do the same in your Registry. Then, your system should be ok. Larry

Why is it that when a hundred people post on here that they have REMOVED THE WORM COMPLETELY yet they are still having RPC and svchost problems, all they get is a response saying that they have the msblast worm and they need to download any number of patches/fixes to get rid of it? I know you're just trying to help, but it's getting frustrating... I have NO TRACE of the worm. Running the patches and fixes come up with NOTHING, but it has caused damage to my registry that I still need to fix. Does anybody have any idea how to fix it? And PLEASE no responses telling me to delete msblast.exe from my hard drive and registry. I did that a week ago and they no longer exist on my HD!
