Hello,
Here's my problem. Everything was working fine on my computer, until last Saturday, when I took my computer to my friend's house. I tried to install a Sandisk USB Wireless stick, to connet to his home network, which never actually worked. I uninstalled, and took my computer back home.
Now, I can't connect to the internet. I use a 4 port hub/router and connect through cable modem. I have a static IP (each of the 3 computers connected to the router does), and we all use the same DNS.
From the command prompt, I can ping the router (ping 192.168.1.1), and it's fine, but when I ping a website (ping www.yahoo.com) it doesn't find it. When I open my browser, it says "cannot find www.yahoo.com".
I think the wireless thing that I tried to use somehow overtook my dns settings or something.
Please help... I'm getting desparate. Thanks in advance!!!

david,
do an ipconfig release renew or manually power off your modem and restart the pc and this should solve your problems just fine
